Reiki Master/Teacher

$60 per hour

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing that cleanses and balances the energy patterns in the body. As a result, the body’s natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum mental, emotional, and physical health.

Reiki is usually a stand alone modality. However I have found that when I hook up with you while also doing other modalities, especially JFB Myofascial Release, the effects of treatment are enhanced.

During a session, I work in energetic connection with you in order to remove blockages, detoxify your energy system, and restore your vital life force energy.  The Reiki technique utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us.  The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

 J F Barnes Myofascial Release

$100 per hour

JFB Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using holding techniques to unwind the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. It is most effective when done without creams and oils. And it feels very good.

Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers and intertwines with all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. It is in fact much like a huge 3 dimensional spider web that goes everywhere throughout the body. Fascia are your tendons, ligaments, skin, heart valves, blood vessels, and even fat as well as little fibers that go everywhere. Fascia is made of colagenous material and takes on a spiral nature like a slinky. And like a spring with a memory, it goes right back to its original shape very easily. This is a problem if your fascia has been traumatized by an accident or tightens up to much from inactivity or from too much activity.

But if you gently pull that slinky and hold it there, patiently, for quite a while, then it starts to unwind. You end up with a kink in your slinky and it has a hard time flipping down the stairs. Not good for a toy, but if it's your fascia, it's wonderful. We start to get space back in our body and we quit squeezing on every nerve, blood vessel, and organ. And the pain let's up, and circulation gets better, breathing improves, vision, hearing, headaches, back pain, etc.

For many people, this is the first long term pain relief they have had in years. They start to get their lives back.

This is THE most important modality I practice besides Reiki.

Orthopedic Massage

$75 per hour

Orthopedic massage is a style of massage therapy focused on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Because orthopedic massage is designed to treat medical conditions, it requires extensive training. It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and decompress rigid joints. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being.

I believe that James Waslaski is one of the best teachers of Orthopedic Massage and I have modeled my work after him. All my Muscle Energy Technique was learned from Dr. Leon Chaitow as well as from Dave Maggard.

Active Isolated Stretching

$65 per hour

Developed by Aaron Mattes, Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a dynamic system for improving your flexibility and overall well-being. As you probably already know, stretching your muscles not only reduces your chance of injury, but also strengthens your tendons and improves your circulation.

Deep Tissue Massage

$75 per hour

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Sports Massage

$65 per hour

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Polarity Therapy

$60 per hour

Polarity therapy is a type of bodywork which is focused on the energy fields of the body, rather than the physical body itself. This type of body work is also called energy work, because the practitioner attempts to adjust the skewed energy fields of the body and bring them into balance. During a polarity therapy session, the therapist and client usually work together in a very calm, relaxed environment.

Hot Stone Therapy

$140 per 90 minutes

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

CranioSacral (SM)

$75 per hour

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

Trigger Point Therapy

$75 per hour

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Egoscue Method

$170 per approx. 2 hr session

Egoscue Movement Therapy uses a custom-tailored approach to improve your posture, and become PAIN FREE. Combining client photographs to analize postural dysfunction, problem-solving, and an ordered set of e-cises specifically designed for the client to straighten and then strengthen the body, if done daily. When the body realigns itself this also results in improved performance for athletes as well. This is the best method for the client to work on their own myofascial tissue which can save megabucks for the client in the long run. This method is about understanding your body and how it got the way it is and how YOU can change it.
